Three 2015 winter anime on my watch list

Another year and another season has come to us, and yet barrage of anime doesn’t seem to slow down at all. The beginning of 2015 marks 35 anime to be aired for the season. Though I’d love to watch them all, alas time is limited to 24 hours a day only. That means I need to hand pick several of the anime that interests me the most. Coincidentally, after reading the complete list of winter anime this year, all of the new series I decided to watch consist of cute girls! They range from anthropomorphic great World War II ships, a bunch of non-otaku girls who form a circle to create a dating-sim game, and superhuman girls in an absurd post-apocalyptic world. They also happen to made in colorful and gorgeous animation that is normally found in anime movies rather than broadcasted in TV.

So, do you know what my watch list consist of already? Feast yourselves with these cute girls!

Kantai Collection (艦隊コレックション)

This one is quite easy since I use them as featured image for this post, right? Kantai Collection gives Japanese World War II ships some moe treatment that transforms them into cute girls wielding bows, cannons and torpedoes. While I admit that they are quite awkward and strange, the animation itself is done wonderfully with hand and CG animation blend harmoniously in almost every war scene. For now, I’ll ignore its awkward setting and various fanservices in the series, and enjoy the mesmerizing animation instead.

Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata (冴えない彼女の育てかた)

I always enjoy watching slice-of-life series that feature an otaku that got surrounded by cute girls, and this one is no exception. The story is about high school students creating a circle to develop a dating-sim game. This is a typical harem anime, but with exceptionally colorful and smooth animation. I can picture myself watching to its last episode.

Rolling Girls (ローリングガールス)

I didn’t expect much when watching the first episode of Rolling Girls, but I was wrong. The first episode got straight to some kick-ass fighting scene that normally I only can watch in OVA or other high-budgeted anime movie I can think of. I’m completely captivated by its fluid animation and great facial expression that made me amused for the full thirty minutes. This alone is enough to set me ignore the absurd backstory and enjoy the show. I have absolutely no idea how the story would develop, so I guess the only option to find out is to follow the series in the future.

So those are three new anime on my watch list (for now) other than some leftovers from the preceding season’s. Are you also watching them? Or perhaps there are other great anime I’m missing out? If it’s the case, then please give me your advice.
